FT: Real Madrid 1-1 Atlético de Madrid (5-3 on penalties)

CRISTIANO Ronaldo struck the winning penalty as Real Madrid sealed an 11th UEFA Champions League triumph in a gripping final in Milan.

Sergio Ramos opened the scoring for Los Blancos with a controversial goal in the 15th minute, where he looked slightly off-side.

Atletico weren’t in the game, but burst out of the blocks after the break.

Antoine Griezmann missed a penalty within minutes of the second half, but late in the contest, impressive sub Yannick Carrasco levelled proceedings.

Neither side could find the equaliser in extra-time, and Juanfran, who had supplied the equalising goal, was the unlucky man to see his penalty rebound off the post.

Ronaldo, who had had a quiet game, stepped up to slot home the winning strike.
